Open an image editor program (Photoshop, etc). From file menu, click on save-as, and chose the format (gif, jpg, tif ...) you like to save. That is it.

all the responses above are ultimate in that JPG is the main broadly recognised and supported format. yet bear in mind that the way JPG achieves its compression and as a effect smaller record length is to discard redundant pixels. meaning that when you save a picture interior the JPG format, records that grew to become into as quickly as area of the image is being deleted. As a photographer, my digital camera saves documents in a proprietary uncooked format customary as CR2. whilst saving the photos to my laptop I save them as TIFF so not one of the pixels are discarded as a effect degrading the familiar of my photos.

find the file through my computer and click on file once, right click, change name, at the end of the name change or add the file extension of .jpg or even or .btp or .tif

Export your image with a different file extension.

Instead of hitting "save" hit "save as"
