my bf and i have been dating for 8 months i know i love him but i havent said it yet cause i am scared to because of past experiences and he knows that, hes the shy time so i am sure thats why he hasnt said it yet or i am persuming. But on valentines day i got a card from him and it said in his own writing he wrote "happy valentines day" " i love you" chris. So does this mean he really loves me and is afraid to say it or is it just a figure of speech saying.

I think he really loves you. Think about it, wouldnt it hurt if you told someone to their face that you love them, and they didnt respond with the same answer? I think this was his way of letting you know that he does love you, but he is also protecting his feelings because he probably wrote it not expecting you to say it. If he is sticking around for 8 months without hearing it, that means he is secure, and he will wait for you when you are comfortable. I think that was really considerate of him to write it, because its always good to know you are loved. He's a keeper.

People don't usually say things they don't mean. Don't let the past hurt your future, love is a great thing, you may have a couple of loves in your lifetime so loosen up and take that leap of faith, if you love him...

If he is the shy type, then just presume and take it as he does. He probably does love you, but might be scared to tell you in regards to what you feel for him. I hope your relationship works out.

I THINK THAT FOR A MAN TO ACTUALLY WRITE OUT THOSE THREE LITTLE WORDS, THAT IT MEANS SOMETHING. I'VE SEEN THEM WRITE "LOVE" BEFORE (WITH THEIR NAME UNDERNEATH) AND THAT DIDN'T REALLY MEAN MUCH. BUT FOR HIM TO WRITE IT.........I'M THINKING HE MEANT IT.
