I love cod roe.Ever since I was a young lad without enough money for some fish I tried some cod roe with chips from my local Chippy. You can buy it from the supermarket in tins.One tin will cut into 4 nice burger size cakes which can be fried like rissoles and eaten with chips, peas,salt and vinegar.Try dipping them in some batter first or coating them with flour before frying.
I can taste them now!
Also herring melts ( smooth roe) on toast and under the grill is a great snack.

My ex used to like cod roe, but I'm sure we bought it tinned. We just used to slice it, coat in flour and fry. Other fish roe we used to pop under the grill on foil, then spread on toast.

Make deviled eggs and top them with the roe, but whatever you DO NOT use a metal spoon when dealing with the roe- it will give the roe a metalic taste...
You could smear crackers or toast points with cream cheese and also top with the roe- Yummy!

hold your nose while you eat it and just swallow without chewing... that way you wont smell or taste it. man why would you want to???
