(Christians only please!!!) I have been a Christian all my life and last year I just got baptized, rededicated my life to christ, fell under the spirit for the first time, got on fire for God, and began speaking in tongues. So, I'm still getting used to some things. But, I feel bad sometimes because I find myself doubting others walk with God.I've done it a few times, I dont know if I'm insecure with my own walk with God or maybe its jealousy...

but, for instance, at church, in youth group, a few weeks ago we had a prayer group for those wanting more of God and the HOly Spirit, and the ability to speak in tongues, I already had it by this point, so when I was praying in tongues quietly to myself in the group, my best friend was next to me and she was copying every word in tongues that i said...and i stopped praying because i noticed this and then she stopped to

there has been other occasions like this, but have any of you ever doubted others walk with God?

Maybe your friend is still trying to find his/her path, and maybe it is not your place to judge him/her. You are allowing this person to distract you during your own meditation or prayer. If it bothers you or disturbs you- relocate to a different area. Or better yet- ask this person why they are doing what they are doing. It would help to understand them before you start drawing such stark conclusions about their ability to walk with the Lord. Maybe it is the Lord that is actually testing whether or not you are walking with Him.

Wow! God bless you for posting this. This has been on of my problems. No I do not doubt my walk with God but this is the problem I have with tounges. I got to an AOG church where tongues and loud prayer and worhship are the norm. I was feeling tempted and pressured to speak in tongues but i didn't feel right doing them or even trying until I learned about them biblically. Honestly, it doesn't seem what people are speaking are the same tongues that are being spoken. Just like the example you said, with your friend. We can have all of God that we want, through his word. I would suggest that you really start to study tongues, for yourself. Get both sides of the story and make up your own mind. Study people that speak in tongues and see what they have to say, then study people that don't belive in the and study where they get that from.

Yes, unfortunately. But you also have to be careful and not judge them. I'm glad for you, and I hope you continue your walk with Christ. But also, the Bible says for you to not judge the person, but judge the teaching by it's fruit. So having said that.....I would have to say that I doubt a lot of the tele-evangelists I see. Some are I feel right there with God, others are in it for the money and their own personal glory. Have a wonderful day.

Yes, but the enemy will keep you busy looking at others, then pride can set in. Pray for those. I know I'm alot further along in God than those around me, but I don't make them feel like it. I speak in tongues too, but if your heart is harboring things that's not like God, tell Him to clean you out from whatever it is, so it won't grow into something else. The enemy comes and try to make us fall of course, don't let pride sit in.

I have Blair, but it was not as much doubting as realizing that they did not have the experience of knowing God for a long while yet and therefore misunderstood some things or in their zeal to share their newfound belief went a bit overboard.

I have wondered about some televangelists...and did you see about that preacher that SOLD THE CHURCH and went out and bought a BMW....definitely questionable.

Perhaps it is best for you to enter into the closet and pray, without ceasing and without the eyes of others.

One of the critical things that Jesus did not really care for was the fact that people prayed in the court yards, for others to see and hear, for the sake of the viewers, not for the purpose of a loving relationship with God.

We are to pray in secret and our Father will reward us openly.

I think there are some people who can't faint, speak in tongues and stuff like that. Your friend is probably one of those people and she just wants to fit in.

Yes. But that is an issue between them and God, perhaps they just want to be accepted into the flock.
