If love is a desire, is that to say it is unimportant? Humans naturally have desires in which they find the need to fulfill. I do believe that acceptance is of utmost important in human desire. To me, love is just supreme acceptance, so I totally agree that love is a desire, but you made is seem like it is unimportant on account of it.
Of course, when you die, the desire will go away. Everything is temporary if you give it enough time, but that doesn't mean it isn't important. It seems like you have the view that only eternal things (like love supposedly) are important, but the fact of the matter is it's completely reverse. It's the things that are limited by time that make them so precious. Then again, everything is limited by time.
You also say you don't think you will ever fall in love? How do you come to that conclusion? Just because certain events occur in the past, does not mean it will occur in the future. You never know what will happen.

It's very normal, although I believe your theory on love is mistaken. It'll hit when you least expect it. Have you ever loved someone? Love is nothing more than desire for some and that is most often the kind of love that doesn't last. Yes, falling in love includes desire (unlike a baby and it's mother, say;) but there are so many other wonderful emotions that go along with it. It's fine that you haven't fallen in love yet. When you do, though, you'll know - I promise.

Interesting...I would really feel bad for you if you've never felt love before....which is why I would believe you've felt love before. If you have parents, friends brother's sisters, etc., this is where we first experience love. If you care for your family then you know what love feels like...but of course there a different degrees of love. The love for a man and woman are completely different from the love of a mother and child. What kind of love are you looking for is the question for you...You can't look for the same love from a mother and child if you want the kind of love that a man and woman has...
Also how do you define love for self...the only way you can accept and recognize love is when someone comes along and show you 'love' based on how YOU define love to be...until then you will not recognize love.

I had crushes but I didn't feel love for a very long time until I met the right person. I think if the right person comes along, you'll fall in love. I used to think I was such a cold person but I'm not, like I didn't have any feelings. Love can come from desire. It's important to be attracted to the person anyway.

Ya know - that's a damn good question. It's hard to tell. Becasue there's "loving" someone - then there's being "In-Love". Well, all I can say is, i LOVE my mom, I LOVE drawing......but i'm not in love with them. I guess the only way you can tell is when and if it happens. If you don't find that person, you may never feel it. Like me, i've been married for 3 years, I "LOVE" him yes, but just like I "LOVE" my dog. I don't feel "IN-LOVE" Love is what you make it. But you're right, it may never happen. Most of the time people are blinded by money or lust and sex. Hmmmmm....I wonder if it does exist? Ya got me......

i think a lot of people talk about love a little too loosely. I have been in a few long relationships but have only been in "love" once...with my fiancee...I think young people just throw the word around and think that it justifies doing certain things...It is normal to feel like you do...You just obviously haven't found the right person yet but when you do you will know for sure you are in love...there will be no question.

Love is not just desire, is real appreciation for somebody or even something. You can fall in love with your career for instance.
