My employer put 300 in an HSA and that is noted on the W-2 from work, but I got a separate one for the same amount from the bank that the money was stored in. I don't want to get charged with double "income" for this. When Turbo Tax checks for errors, this is one that it hits - it says my employer made excess contributions to my HSA. When I remove one of them, the refund amount goes up about $40. Can I just not report the one from the bank?

Sounds as thought someone made a mistake. I would contact your employer and the bank, explain the situation and let them figure it out.

Don't just decide to not include it because this is reported to the treasury department. It may look like you didn't report all of your income. Instead, contact your employer about correcting your W-2 form. I think Turbo Tax has a form included for doing this.

Good luck.

dont include it twice. you reported it correctly when you input your W-2. the bank statement is just telling you how much is in the account.
