I've had the same laundry detergent for years, I haven't been near any bushes or trees to where I could get posion ivy/oak or anything like that. the bumps are all different sizes... some puffed out and some close to the skin.

Sounds like hives so you are having an allergic reaction to something. Go and get some calamine lotion, it will help with the itch and healing. If that doesn't work head to the doctor's & they can tell you what it is.
Poison ivy doesn't have the little white bumps at the top - the heads are clear but I'm not sure about poison oak. Don't know where you live so don't know if you've been exposed to something like that. Does sound more like hives. Did you eat something in the last day or so that you haven't had before - did you go to a new place - did you change your laundry detergent - did you get a new pet - did you buy new clothes and didn't launder them before washing? All kinds of things can cause hives so you have to take a good look at what's suddenly different in your life.

I'm sorry I can't tell you what problem you are having, but if it's itching have you tried putting anything on it like calamine lotion? Caladryl clear is great stuff, and it won't get on your clothing.
Have you changed detergents or fabric softeners recently? How about body lotion or soaps? Is it possibly the clothing itself? It almost sounds like an allergy, but I am no doctor.
I would see a dermatologist if it persists. I doubt it is anything serious, but it never hurts to get a professional opinion.
For immediate relief, though, maybe try bathing in Aveeno and hitting the caladryl lotion.
I hope you get to the root of your problem, I can imagine it is driving you nuts.

The other answers look good, but you might try benadryl to see if it is an allergy and you might try orajel or the like to reduce the itch.
This is a repeat, but double check the fabric softener.

You need to see a doc. It could be anything from the soap you use to the laundry soap or a skin condition that needs medical treatment. EIther way see the doc.

How big are these bumps? Serious winter-dried skin can cause tiny red and white bumps. It's from dry heat and long hot bath/showers and skin-drying soap.

Go to a regular general physician or a dermatologist. Could be anything... hives, poison oak maybe?

You may be having an allergic reaction. Try to go to a cheap doctor of nurse if you're in school.

Don't mean to be gross but do you think you may have fleas or bed bugs?
Or it could be a reaction to a new detergent.
