Why has Quinine been discontinued?

Why has the Quinine been discontinued by the manufacturer.

To the best of my knowledge it has not been discontinued as I have several nursing home patients on it and their meds have not been changed to something else.

They still put it in tonic water to the best of my knowledge; one reason for its not so wide use nowadays is malaria's growing resistance to its use. (it was primarily an antimalarial drug).

You can still get it. My mom was perscribed some last year for leg cramps.
