I gave this guy my number early this week, he had asked a couple of times and I finally gave it to him. But to me it kinda seems like he wants a friend, but then it seems like he might be interested in me. Okay he texted me the first night, stating that we should hang out and maybe go to dinner, but then he says stuff like maybe we could all get together(me and my friends) and go out. He also said that he would call me and see if I had time this weekend to hang, and he hasn't called yet. So my questions are: Do u think that he's interested in me or just wants to be friends? And how could I ask him what he wants without being to straight forward?

No don't be straightforward, he might think you are to brash. Just wait it out, hang out with the friends and see how he is. If he is interested, I'm sure he will let you know.

You imply but did not state whether you are romantically interested in him? Your question indicates you may be interested, but you want to know where he is before you make that known.
If you are not sure, then go for the get together with friends. That way you have an opportunity to get to know each other better. You also have the added benefit of getting feedback from your friends as to their perceptions as well.
His being unclear likely just means that he is nervous or unsure. A lttle more time together in an unpressured atmosphere will give both of you more experience with each other.

Don't be in such a rush. He must be interested or he wouldn't want to get together with you. Relationships are born from friendship first. Take your time and enjoy being with him whether it's with friends or alone.

at first he wants to be friends but he is also interested at the same time he wants to go on a group date and get to know you and get his friend's opinions about youy too so give him a chance and if he wants to date he'll ask ya
