that they are online-- it is difficult for anything to be serious online or for you to be sure.
it's cool to break the ice online.. but then you actually have to physically meet them & interact, that is until virtural sex & relationships come along.

You can never really know unless you meet.
You have to go with your gut instincts. If things just don't add up you need to question the person and if they get offended then you know that they are not serious and might just be needing an excuse for a way out.
It's better to know early who you are dealing with rather than to hope and dream only to find out the character you were serious about was only entertaining himself.

You shouldn't be dating over the internet anyways unless you are one of those people that go to e-hormony or something then you know they are serious. But you should probably meet them in person just incase.

you have to be careful you have no idea who the person is male/female,their real age etc...
