My cousin's girlfriend got really sick on the way to see her mom in the hospital. My cousin took her to the ER, and they thought she was miscarrying. Turns out, she delivered a FULL-TERM baby! She never even knew she was pregnant. I saw her two months ago, NO WAY she looked that plump. She is a skinny girl. Anybody else hear of this phenomenon?

It definately does happen, although not that often. And it DOES NOT only happen to young girls. It happens to women who have never been oregnant and to women who have had babies before. It happens to uneducated single young girls and (I swear) to 34 year old married school teachers.
Having been pregnant myself and not finding the symptoms subtle at all, I don't understand how you could not know. But working in a hospital, I can tell you that there are some women who truly seem to be sincere when they say they didn't know. Every pregnancy is different, but some are REALLY different.

You really can't know if they truly didn't know or not. I did see on TV the other day where a woman came to the E.R. with stomach pain, and the doctor thought she had a cyst, turned out she was in labor, the doctor said he couldn't tell she was pregnant. So in short I guess it could happen, but I don't think it happens all that often.

I know a woman who is a rather large person and kept going to the doctor because of constipation and depression. She didn't find out until 2 weeks before her son was born that she was even pregnant.
Many overweight people don't have regular periods and with the constipation and bowl problems she was having, she just chalked it up to really bad gas.
True story!!! It's pretty bad too because she took all kinds of medication while pregnant and even drank. Her son was born with webbed fingers and one of his hands is really tiny.
A bunch of my friends felt really sorry for her and took up a collection to buy diapers and clothes for the little guy.

happens more often than we think. Most people say that the girl was just trying to hide it, and while that may be the case in some instances, sometimes she really does not know.

Yup. I think it's more common with young girls who wouldn't know what the signs of pregnancy looked like. And I've known more than one woman who gained almost no weight. It happens.

I dated a girl whos sister went into labor at a concert. She didn't even know she was pregnant.

no that's the most odd story i've ever heard. once i heard somethign similar but it was a lady who had stolen a baby who had said that ( in a true movie)

ok thats not true at all- you know your preg!!!! theres a little thing missing for nine months called your period! theres no way you can just deliver a baby and not know you were preg! way to many changes to your body and moods and everything.

I think that's just a case of ignorance.... kind of like... if you don't acknowledge it it doesn't exist.
