hi sleepy,
first you have to make the choice, decide, maybe go visit some old hippies that have smoked too much, often people who have smoked for too long have bad memories or periods of paranoia or depression.
buy a hypnosis cd to give up, ive got a good one by paul mckenna,or go see a hypnotist.
be prepared that you might feel some things that you dont want to,sometimes people smoke to not feel certain things,
sad or angry ,anxious or lonely,
its ok that you feel these things, modern life is quite stupid and scary, have some support group in place, beore you give up, people you trust to listen and not judge.
cannabis is addictive in that your body and mind become used to things,
you can use a detox at home to help get you off;
use a sauna every day for 2 or three weeks, sweat toxins out ,drink lots of filtered water, take 3or 4 grams of vit c powder ,
a good multi vit multi min ,from a health food shop, omega 3 oils every day[thc is stored in fat cells]ie flax seed oil and fish oil
buy 5htp a seretonin precursor to relax you, l-tyrosine might also help.
its natural to want to get high , our real nature is actually like that, i feel, check out www, gangaji and www.johnderuiter.com
good luck contact me if you need more help,

Here's the thing. Without rehab, you will be back to smoking in about 3-4 days. Do you really want to stop? If you do, then you need rehab. If you don't.......you will be craving it and there will be nothing to stop you from turning right back to it. Give yourself a break. Get into rehab. You won't be able to get it in there. Give yourself a chance to figure out why you have done nothing but constantly smoked weed all day everyday for the last 4 years. When you figure that out, you won't need to use drugs anymore.

These other MORONS might say marijuana is not addictive but i know FOR A FACT IT IS. anything mentally addictive can eventually become physical . SO Good frickin luck! If your from california the only people who arn't completley uptight are total stoners! And maybe a few other skumbags. I have the same problem. All of my friends smoke weed, every frigen one! I've been smokin for 12 years. Yet nowadays i just force myself too stop. I go for a couple weeks at a time sometimes, yet again sometimes i smoke for 2 weeks straight. hehe. ANyway bro, i say just move to another city/state, meet new people, stoner friends are a bad influence. Or just get yourself under control, the only person or thing that can do it, is you!

Dude, pop isn't addictive. The addictive quality is only that you like the experience. If you don't smoke for three days, you're fine. I would suggest that you get some new friends because they're probably part of the problem, in that they are encouraging (or at least allowing) such a life style. Rehab might help because it will give you structure and a clean place to get over it though. Good luck!!

Quitting cannabis is harder than most think especially when under the influence. It is more of a mental addiction but physical symptoms can arise from your change of emotions. Yes you can quit on your own. Start reducing your intake and then quit. Don't keep it around anymore. Don't put yourself in the position or situation to use.

Yes. There is no physical addiction related to cannabis. It's entirely a psichological factor.

its mostly a physical addiction when it comes to cannabis. thats the good thing because withdrawls usualy are just headaches. at the least your just gonna be extreamly bored because you wont have that great high to look forward to. counter that with like stuff you love to do and u should be fine. to start even just lower to like 2 blunts a day and go from their cus it might be to much to go cold turkey at first. but no dude theres no need for rehab at all when it comes to cannabis. good luck

Yeah, just stop. Weed is not physically addictive, so just stop smoking it. The cigarettes will be harder, but take thing one at a time. 15 joints a day?! You listened to too much Sublime, my friend. There's no reason to be that high all the time. Bring it back down, and take a look at the world with sober eyes every so often...

You have to gradually quit. You cant quit cold turkey. You also have to want to quit. If you don't want to quit you wont. You also need a support system. Tell someone you are planning to quit and have they harp on you about quitting. Will power is the key to anything you put your mind to. Just remember it takes an average of seven times before you have successfully quit..... just don't give up.
Good Luck!!

yeah, we smoked several times a day for over 10 years and just quit about three years ago. it's not that hard, sure, you'd like some, but it's not like quitting cigarrettes or something, there's no withdrawl, and you can just go on with things as normal.
we still will have a puff on special occassions like christmas, but if you don't have it around, you aren't hurting for it. Good luck!
