I used to get bad colds which inevitably ended up in a sinus infection or bronchitis. But for the last 5-6 times I started coming down with a cold, I started taking Airborne, which is basically a mix of vitamins and herbs designed to boost your immune system. I start with the Airborne the instant I get cold symptoms, for a total of three times a day, for two days. At the same time, I also use Cold-Eeze, which are zinc lozenges. Every time I've done this faithfully, my cold would only last about 3 days, and the symptoms would never get severe, and by the 4th day it would be completely gone. And I haven't gotten bronchitis or a sinus infection since I've started doing this. But the key is, you have to start the treatment immediately at the start of a cold. If you wait too long, then you're in for the long haul, usually 7-10 days.

There are lots of ways to help aid your body in healing and to reduce the symptoms of a cold. Eat chicken soup which is warm and opens the nose and provides nutrients the AMA said are good for colds. Get a saline spray and use it three times a day to keep the nostrals moist and remove the ikky stuff. Blow your nose to clean it out, throw away the tissue and wash your hands so you don't give the "germs" to somone else. And for the sore throat gargle with warm (not hot) water with salt three times a day. There are also OTC sprays for the throat.

And get into bed and rest/sleep to help your body to heal!

There is no secret method. A cold must run its course and there is no cure. Take throat lozenges or spray, aspirin or Tylenol, and in 7-10 days, your cold will be gone as it will have run its course.

to get rid of the sore throat, gargle with raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar.
i take 2,000 mg vit c, then every 4 hours 1,000 mg. i do this right as soon as i get symptoms, and it usually knocks it out.
there is a new product out called airbourne. that, i am told, works great. it actually has 1,000 mg vit c in it, and you drink it every 3 hours..
also, increase you fluid intake, and get lots of sleep..
good luck
