I am a Buddhist... I am having a hard time with some of the answers on here... the question did not give an open invitation to attack. This is sad... I don't have imaginary friends, I am not lazy and it does not effect my ability to work or be with my family. I would hope that people would at least show some kindness. We do not force Buddhism on you, we respect your beliefs and want to help you practice them (as long as they are based in loving kindness) why would you so easily bash ours then?

There are so many things wrong with that question. First of all, if you're an atheist, you cannot be a Hindu or a Buddhist. (Hindus have thousands of gods). Atheists do not believe in any god/gods, or religion in general. We are against religion. Although personally I would rather be a Buddhist or a Hindu than any other religion.

Hindus have a very strong belief in God, Many Buddhists have some form of belief or may actually have another religion that they practice alongside their Buddhism. Learning about other people and showing respect helps us all live in peace.

I'm a Hindu and I'm gonna ask you this :

Why peoples just believe what it’s told in their religion ? Even I’m sure they totally have no idea wether it’s true or not.

I’ve seen peoples who were blinded by their religion.. They’re not become wise and kind, but become a fanatics and closed minded. Peoples even would kill for their religion. I’ve seen many war caused by religion…

Why peoples always make excuse and even create lie for their religion ? Why peoples love to be manipulated by their religion ?

In Hindu, I was teach to have an initiatives to find the real truth (If I want to). Which is through yoga or trough samadhi (meditation). If I do it the right original way, it will linked me right to God.

Why other peoples are so passive about it ? Don't have initiatives ? Are they trap into the world of materialism and leave the original spiritualism ?

Why others peoples are so lazy to find the truth about Hinduism and Buddhism before they have to insult us ?

Sorry for my English...

Hindus and Buddhists are not Atheists no matter what you and others claim. Just because they don't call their supernatural beings God they are Gods to them never the less.

No, most likely most Atheists are Materialists and Naturalists...

Although there were a few Buddhist and "spiritual" atheists tucked away around here.
