I wouldn't think that you would have any problems. I actually have less problems with my dogs because they have the other dog to play with.

Absolutely! I have a 10 year old German Shepherd and I got a chihuahua in Dec. I was so worried but they get a long great. German Shepherds get along well with other animals. I say go for it. By the way, my chihuahua thinks hes bigger than the Shepherd. LOL

yes, it is very possible. first, you should have both dogs on leashes, in a neutral area( as your house is the shepards territory) and let them get aquainted. if there is any agression on either one, correct instantly but do allow them to check each other out. 15 minutes to half an hour. then, while still on leashes, take them inside your house so that the shepard sees that you are inviting the other dog into it's space...YOU have to make it ok for both dogs. dominance issues between the two will be NORMAL for a few days (or more) until they get accustomed to who rules the roost. Please do this BEFORE agreeing to take the other dog in because it might be that they just cannot get along. best of luck to you

You must introduce them slowly. German Shepard's depending on their parent background can be loving or not so loving At. 5 months old ...you pup, if not already around other dogs you must be very careful and NEVER leave them alone till you are for sure they are OK with each other. I would hate to see anything go wrong. DO you have access to a dog park? Socializing dogs is very very important as soon as possible.

yure you can have both! I foster dogs all the time and have my own dog as well. MY biggest suggestion is to make sure you introduce the two dogs outside. Sometimes bringing one in the others home can cause problems. Take each on walk and let them meet up!
Also, they may growl and snarl but they are just trying to decide who is boss. It will stop and is not hurting either. Anymore questions let me know!

I have a 9 month old German/Lab mix and a 5 yr old Golden. They are wonderful together. They play and wear each other out. And the are jealous little things. One can't get attention unless the other does too. They get along wonderfuly. You shouldn't have any problems unless you force them together rather than letting them get to know one another.

I think you should keep both they will have each other and they will not get lonely. Though if your 1st dog was older it may have a problem with the other dog. Puppies always grow better with a buddy. Best of luck!!

As long as you can give them the proper care, I don't see a problem with having more than one dog. I have five Chihuahua's and they are a handful, but I could not imagine them not being a part of my life.

try to have the dog over and see if their temperament match each other. i had two dogs that fought all the time and unfortunately i had to give one away.
