I would agree.
The big attraction for certain religions is that they have almost no cost associated with salvation save for professing belief. That seems way to easy. In theory, Adolf Hitler could be in heaven right now if in the last few seconds of his life he had accepted a certain someone as his personal savior.

In christianity, believing and acting are two different sides of the same coin.
In other words: You are not a christian if you are acting in horrible ways no matter how many times you go and "repent". Repentance is not real untill you walk the talk.
People make it sound like you can be a horrible person and then just repent and all is well. There is nothing further from the truth.
Imagine if a guy was a murderer all his life and when he was close to dying he starts praying that he will go to heaven. What do you think the chances are that his prayer is one of genuine repentance?
Not very good chances... Someone who gets their hearts hardened with doing evil things is not going to be able to repent genuinely. Repenting out of fear of hell, is NOT enough for it to be genuine.
There will be some (very few) people who do genuinely repent and have a change of heart, but I think that number is very small, and most likely those that are genuine tend to change their ways earlier in life rather than at the last minute.
And nobody can fool God.

Because being a good hearted person alone will not get you to heaven only a relationship with Jesus Christ will you have to know him in your heart and believe he is the son of god
died on the cross, was resurrected and sits at the right hand of God Only then can you really be saved of course you have to live a good christian life as well and that is not that much to ask considering we are offered the gift of everlasting life or the torment of everlasting hell this life is just a test and that's all that feally matters man by nature is a sinful creature and lustful and greedy to lay all that down for the lord is difficult and nearly impossible but it is the reality and we do have a choice

Thats just what God said man would say. The way your are thinking is called "iniquity". You are making a god instead of believing in God. All man is fallen, even the good ones. What you call "good" in life may not be good enough for me, and may be far too much for the other guy. We all have different opinions, and our standards of what is good and evil will differ greatly. Just look at the world we live in. Most think they are "good" people. But as we examine them, we can find things we think are wrong.
Simply believing in God will not get one into heaven, whether they are a good person or a murderer. It is trusting God for your eternal salvation and following His commands that get one into heaven. It does not matter if that person is14 or75 when they make this change.

This argument is brought up often.
I think in reality, a person who rapes and murders would have to do a lot of praying and repenting in order to be changed. When we come to trust and obey god, we become different people. The old person dies and we are new. So i do believe it is possible if the person truly was changed, however I don't think it happens very often. I think that a person who does good, is humble, and loving, and generous that does not believe in Jesus, will not necessarily be seperated from God. I do not believe in a forever tormenting hell. Just nothing ness, seperation from God and his love. a second death.

Because the person who committed the horrible crimes repented of their sins and made a complete turnaround in their life and held on to the hand of Jesus after their conversion, while the other person who has always been upright really didn't have a change of heart and really didn't seek God or fell away or just became idle thinking that all they had to do was sit down after their conversion and not do anything else. A person's goodness is not what get's them to heaven.

I'm not sure what the true answer to that question is, but I can tell you my opinion. I think that it is determined on how you behave, and also in what you believe. If you accept Jusus Christ into your heart forever, and then go out and curse, bully, and not show the ways of God then accepting Jesus into your heart was a complete waste of time, because you didn't really mean it. No matter what religion you are (excluding Athiast) just as long as you believe in God and act like it, you will go to heaven. The rapist and murderers, will not go to heaven unless they accept Jesus into their heart, and change their ways.

I often ponder this theory myself. I was told once, by a Christian, that God rewards us with how many jewels are in our crown. So I could go to Heaven the same as a child molester who asked for forgiveness and truly meant it. The only difference would be the number of jewels that our crowns had.
I still struggle everyday wondering if I want to be with child molesters (who asked for forgiveness) for eternity and with a God that accepts them the same as he accepts me.
I also struggle with the fact that He wants to be worshipped, only him and no other God, we can't take his name in vain, we must do as He says (which is wishy washy between the NT and the OT). If a human being had these qualities, we would say he was selfish, self centered, egotistical, vain, etc.
I just don't get it.

The reason bad people can go to heaven and what you think are good people go to hell is simple. The only way into God's heaven is to put your faith and trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. Christ died for the sins of the ungodly He didn't die for the righteous man. Romans 5: 8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

You are mistaken on what it takes to go to Heaven. It is what is truly in your heart that decides that...you cannot just "say" you believe in God 2 seconds before you die and expect to go to Heaven. It is what is deep in your heart and soul. And if you truly ARE a good person, you will not burn in Hell....
It is not up to us to decide...
Good thing none of us are God...
