My boyfriend and I have been together for about six months... Before that we were very good friends for over six years... we were classmates at High School... I always since seven grade had a crush on him.. more than just a crush but he never felt the same way. Although he had three girls that he liked a lot and of course neither of them was me. Yesterday for V-Day he gave me a necklace he had bought in Italy two years ago and that he liked a lot. He gave me this because we are going to college and we would not be seeing each other so frequently as we did on vacations. So I thought it was something really sweet. But then... he suddendly told me that when he was in Italy we bought a necklace like that to a girl that he had the feelings for... I felt so hurt after that like it wasn't special anymore... I got to ask myself if he is like giving me all the thing he gave other girls... Important data is that we are first boyfriend and girlfriend. I don't know.. if my reaction was normal..

He should of bought you something different than what he bought some other girl. Maybe he got them on sale and he gives them to all the girls he meets and dates.

Men are stupid
The male gender in general is stupid.
For him, the necklace probably represented his feeling. Maybe he usually give jewelery from Italy to girls he likes. In his mind it was the right thing to do.
However, as a more seasoned player of the game, I know it was a stupid thing to do. You reaction was not weird, it was a typical female reaction. Don't let it affect you.

What a jerk. How dare he give you the same necklace/same kind of necklace that he gave to someone else. He just gave you something he had lying around, didn't even put any thought into it. You should be very upset.

Maybe he feels that you are as special as the other girl was and if not then yes your reaction was normal because if that happened to me I would be hurt.

guys always say the most inept things at the incorrect time. Chances are he didn't think out what he said before he said it. Maybe talk to him and tell him how you felt about the situation so he learns to not be so blunt and dumb.

He gave it to you because he cares about you but i can understand why you were hurt your reaction was perfectly normal but maybe you should think more about whether or not it was too harsh
