I'm 22 and I've been putting mousse in my hair almost every day since I was about 13. It does not ruin your hair. Make sure to buy a good brand and try to match the brand of mousse/hairspray with the same brand of shampoo/conditioner.

A good tip for scrunching: When you get out of the shower at night while you hair is still nice and damp, part your hair however you want it and scrunch the mousse into your hair. Turn your head upside down and keep scurunching. Spray generously with hairspray and scrunch up into a bun-type with a scrunchie or something. Keep it like that overnight and in the morning you will have nice and curly hair that will stay all day.

Many products create build up on hair. That build up destroys the natural oils that are there to protect your hair from the elements. Also, that build up starts to weight the hair down. So about every four days, shampoo with a stripper ( no, not the dancer , FiFi LaRue). Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is one effective one, but there are others designed to clean your and strip the product residue.

Well if you put a mouse in your hair it would not be very good! LOL
It's spelled "mousse" and if it doesn't have alcohol in it it's okay to use. The alcohol in many hairstyling products is what dries out your hair.
