i have just started training to become a driving instructor and just recieved a letter from the dsa that from spring 2007 they are gona do enhanced level criminal record checks on all adi.s i have a record for possesion of cannabis 18 years ago will this stop me?

it will show up, but its for the person who employs you to decide, 18 years ago is like David Cameron, and look what that ******** does !

Highly unlikely - they are looking for Sexual Offenders, Convicted Drink Drivers and people that are considered a menace/risk to society.

The record check will show the offence up, but it's not going to be a problem for you

If the offence was one of supplying drugs and a bit more recent, you could find yourself in a bit of a quandry....but not possession of a bit of blow thats 18 years past.

i doubt it will hinder you if that is your only offence and you can show you are a reformed character, the checks will make sure you have no driving offences etc and if you hold a current driving licence etc which I think they will be more concerned about
