Many different women from many different races cook for the city, depending on what city you live in. But most black women cook mainly for their black families, who appreciate the southern and cajun based recipes more than most folks. Such foods include collard greens, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, black eyed peas, chitlins, gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish, ox tails, neckbones, sweet tea. etc... If you really miss the cooking of black woman in the city, try to find online recipes and you may find some black woman who can throw down in a town near you!!

Not sure what you mean by "the city." There are black women cooking in schools, in universities, in hospitals, in restaurants, in excutive office building cafeterias and excell in their own catering businesses. Where are you that you are so sheltered and oblivious?

There union contract has them looked in to only cook in the country.
