ok so i know this guy and i've known him since i was a freshmen and i we have been really great friends but what he dose not know is that i have liked him since we were in high school and i don't know how to break the news to him without him freaking out

When the moment is right, jump him..
On a serious note, you can mention it over dinner one evening and see how he feels about it. If you're scared of a full-frontal confession, joke around with the idea saying, 'Wow, look at us...if people don't know us, they might think we're dating!' something along the lines of that. Gently touch his hand, laugh more than usual when he cracks a joke, smile knowingly and gaze into his eyes. Lean in for some smackers if he's feeling the heat. ;)

Just tell him before its to late, tell him how you feel before he finds another gf and then u wil be heartbroken, meet him one day and tell him how you feel about him and why it is and stuff, u neva know he might feel the same, DO IT before its to late!!
