People are remaining uneducated on the herb, believing that people would steal from their mother for an eighth, just like crack.

People are going to jail for doing something that is less harmful then an aspirin.

Sick people and people in pain and who have no appetite are losing out on a great remedy.

We keep cutting down trees for paper.

We use a rope that isn't as strong.

There's a lot more.

It is something that has been wrongly added to the wrong list in this case illegal. Well i live in country that found a way for that and "allows" you to have 3grams personall use and only for adults. Still illegal by law but and only for Weed ok nothing else.
The crime rate dropped like a brick when this happened. And i for 1 am glad they did cause i've been smoking it for the last 26 years and haven't seen a doctor yet so to speak. and all i have to do know is go buy it legal in a coffeeshop or headshop for you yanks out there lol and i go home with out having to look over my shoulder and smoke my head off if i want.Just my 2 cents on this huh

I think too much money and man hours are spent hunting roaches in vehicle ashtrays that could be better spent on the dealers, the pushers, and the borders where the big drugs enter the states. I don't worry nearly as much about meeting a guy smoking a joint on the highway as I do meeting a drunken driver. Yet alcohol is legal and drunks don't have enough sense to stay out from behind the wheel.

The government apparently makes money off of it either by locking people up for it or for actually supplying it. These are the only two legitimate answers i can come up with. You see God or whatever you believe in made this plant, it is completely natural and put here for a reason. Making it illegal is just like saying God f*cked up, like he made a mistake. Or that nature made a mistake in creating it, well neither are possible. So I say legalize it or go ahead and make alchohal illegal too, because alchohal is far worse than any joint I've ever smoked.

Some random people in the south, and some random people in Canada and South America aren't rich because they don't have huge legal weed farms. Alcohol is more popular because of it.

The biggest difference is the hemp that would be mass produced would replace paper for almost everything. Way cheaper. Paper companies are not cool with that.

1. People are getting arrested, fined and jailed over a substance that is not very dangerous... much less dangerous that alcohol for instance.

2. We don't have the option to use grow hemp in this country, which makes a very good fiber for many uses.

3. Sick people do not have the freedom to use THC for medicinal purposes, such as relief of pain, augmentation of appetite (for cancer patients and others).

4. Our government is wasting huge amounts of money, resources and time enforcing its illegality. Gotta win that War on Drugs, you know.

I'm not advocating the use of marajuana for recreational purposes. There are drawbacks. Heavy usage puts carcinogens into your lungs and probably has long-term affects on neurons in your brain. And as a lifestyle, it created lazy, apathetic morons. But the drug is not physically addictive and there is no known toxic level of THC. And don't tell me it's a gateway drug. Cigarettes and alcohol are the gateway drugs.

Oh my, tax money is spending millions of $$ putting people in jail raiding homes etc. Mr. said he went to a police auction bought a unopened box. Looked inside and low and behold all this marijuana stuff, and seeds!

We are filling our jails full of people who do not need to be there. Ridiculous! So much more things we waste our government money on....

Two primary phenomena:

1) Marijuana addicts (yes, it *IS* addictive) continue to engage in additional illegal activities, as well as bizarre and irrational rationalizations, in order to continue their access to a harmful substance.

2) In order to be seen as 'doing something' governments continue to use overblown methods to crack down on the vile weed, instead of treating it like other addictions. While marijuana should never be legalized, neither is it sensible or productive to toss users in prison for 5-10 years (or more).

Well, I think that if they legalize marijuana then it leads to over use and abuse. Just like prescribed meds., alcohol, tabacco, etc. and will allow people yet another legal thing to get addicted to. I have had my time where I sampled maijuana, but I have been strong enough not to get hooked, move on to other (or worse things), and have stopped. I know not everyone can stop themselves and there is already enough addiction in the world, lets try not to make it easier to get addicted to something else.

illegal drug deals are taking place every second.
people are being killed, and are constantly in danger.
the government makes lots of money because its illegal, everytime police catch dealers, the government profits

if it was legal, life would be better. drug dealers would be gone, it would create more jobs, less violence, people would generally be friendlier, the gov't could even tax it.

if alcohol is legal, then marijuana should be too.
