In Seax wicca they worship 'Woden' and 'Freya'
and i was wondering if you worship 'Odin' and his wife 'Frigg' can you still be considered a Seax wiccan?
Because the Seax believe that Woden and Odin are the same God. the only difference is your not worshiping Freya (goddess of beauty) you are worshiping Odins wife Frigg (Mother Goddess)
So if not a Seax what would be your tredition of wicca?

Well, first of all. I make no claims as to my familiarity with various Wiccan traditions because I've never been one. I'm Asatru. From what I know Seax Wicca is based loosely on Saxon culture, and was founded by Raymond Buckland in the 1970's. Both the Saxon culture and Norse culture were influenced by each other to some degree.

However I can tell you this much, while Woden and Odin may be the same God; Freyja is not the same as Frigga, they are two very distinct Goddesses and should not be used interchangeably. To say that Freyja is a Goddess of beauty is a vast oversimplification. Freyja is the "wild woman" among the deities of the Norse. She is also skilled at the shamanic form of ecstatic, consciousness altering magic called seidhr. She also chooser of half the dead on the battlefield while Odin gets the other half. Like Odin, Freya is often a stirrer of strife. As a Goddess of war and death, she rides a golden boar named Hildisvini ("battle swine").

I believe, what you're talking about is commonly known as "Wiccatru" or "Norse Wicca". And it would only be fair to warn you, the practice of using Norse deities and inappropriately applying them into pantheistic paradigm is very much looked down upon by many Heathens, and that is putting it mildly. And I am telling you this, not to scare you off or anything, I'm happy you've taken an interest in the Norse Gods. Here's a website you might enjoy. http://www.wizardrealm.com/norse/index.html

woden and freya are essentially the same godsheads as odin and frigg. names are just that, names. brigit, an aspect of the mother goddess in the celtic path, is the same goddess as bridget or brid in an irish tradition. if you choose to worship many different pantheons, you would be considered an ecclectic. you would have the freedom to invoke who you wanted, and not be restricted to one set of gods for your purposes.

I'd have to confess to not being an expert, but I get the impression that Wiccans in general aren't really proprietary or dogmatic about these things.

A Witch is a Witch is a Witch...Blessed Be to that. The Gods do not care by what names we call them, just that we do.
thank you for asking such an interesting question
