In a nutshell, one's own self does. Lack of faith when things don't move when we think they should. God isnt on our time table but we can't seem to grasp that. Some of us have hearts that need to be reworked, inner stuff that needs to be re-aligned and that takes time and it's not something we can see so we doubt there is anything going on and we turn away from God. Our hearts harden towards him - and then we feel as if we are alone.

nothing holds you back from god and nothing is capapble of doing it as god is omnipresent .you do not have to reach goid . you aer part of God .What do you call a city.? The roads? The houses?. The buildings ? The people? The animals . the moutains and rivers and tanks and the transport vehicles ? All these together constitute a city , a town etc and none of themindiviudally woud constitute the city or the town.where is the city/ town in them?so is God .God is Omnipresent and is not abscent from anything . so ther is no qustion of yur reaching God .you are in god . You live in God and God is in you.
Only those who do not believe in the omnipresense of God , will have to go to God. nothing animate or inanimate can ever exist wiothout God .but one has to understnd what god really is ?that is too much for this forum and this particular question to consider .. One thing iwould like to tell. that all things hat appear to our pohysical eye as inanimate and lifeless are not realy life less and hat evey atom of evey thing is brimming with energy and life .Thsis is known to the scientists .god uis not unscientific and illogical .God is the highest discipline of wisdom.and the working principle of all beings and non -beings too.
All that we see in the world are not really what twe see them to be .the sun seems to go accross the sky.,It really dose not .it is the spin of the earth that gies such an impression. the earth spins at a speed in excess of 1000 miles oper hour.but it looks to e motionless and fixed .Yo see somethjgn blue above our head .ther eis actually nothing blue over our head .We feel like standing upright on the surface of he earth.and we seem to have the sky above our head .but to those at the antipode ,we are hanging from the surface of the earth that is a ceiling and we are hanging upside dwon from the ceiling hat is eath and the sky is below our head .All these visions are unreal .tha tio swhy the Hindu philosophy says that the whole world is a drama stage and we are charcters and all hat we is just an imaginary vision that ois bound to vanish in the course of time.What is real is unreal and what is unreal is real.

our sins stop us from reaching GOD. the cycle of death and rebirth will stop only when we realise the glory of GOD and surrender to him. only then can we reach GOD .
