Gluten is a protein found in wheat. Studies have shown it can help autistic children perform better. For more information google celiac diet. *Edit* By "it " in the second sentence I meant the gluten free diet, not gluten. Some of the other responders have some great info.

I found a website that list cornmeal as one of the ingredients available for gluten-free diet (see sources).
Also, check out your local health food stores. To learn more about dietary needs and lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference, check out Kevin Trudeau's book or www.naturessafe.com
Good luck to you and your child.

Gluten is only a bi product of WHEAT. So if the package states anything having to do with Wheat then it would have gluten..if not then it isnt.

No, but some people suffering from celiac disease have other allergies as well, including corn, soy, and dairy.
You should be able to find some info from your doctor, as well as from a natural grocer, like Fresh and Wild.

I always buy organic corn meal for my children. It is not much more expensive and I have never had my kid react to it.
Good luck with the GFCF diet. Both of my children had dramatic improvement with it!
