This guy is really quite the gentleman but I am not used to it. He open his car door for me when we first started seeing each other and then I finally said he didnt have to ...well he didnt for a week...then all of a sudden I felt like he should....I know I know....but just yesterday he opened the door to his car for me once again and again throughout the night when we went to places......I should keep my mouth shut now right?? hahahaa....How do I know hes "the one"?? Thank you

So you have found a polite male. They may be rare but that doesn't necessarily make them the right one. Just enjoy the feeling of being treated well. It really is how all men should treat you. Only you can tell if he is the right one. Be patient.

As long as he doesn't treat you poorly in other areas, such as talking down to you or treating you as though you don't have a mind of your own, I wouldn't take his opening the door for you as anything other than a respectful gesture. This man probably realizes that you are perfectly capable of opening the door for yourself, but chooses to be courteous and courtly.
On the other hand, if he treats you like a plaything or a possession then you might be concerned about why he insists on opening your door.

You should be honored that he opens the door. Just talk to him. It is awkward to open the door when you get to where you are going, but very easy to do when getting into the car. Maybe that is a good compromise.

I don't think any of us can tell you if he's "the one", and I'm sure that that question shouldn't hinge on him opening the door for you. But as far as him having good manners - he's on it - let him open your doors. It's not condescending - it's just polite.

He may or my not be the one. But he is a gentleman. Let him pamper you. Who knows he might cook dinner, wash dishes. You could use some one nice in your life, right?
