you're searching in the wrong parameters. confining a being who is omnipotent to the process of human thought is inaccurate. one who knows all doesn't think. our inability to grasp a concept beyond the bounds of our human capacities is difficult, to say the least. do i expect you, or anyone else for that matter, to understand that answer? not on your life, because i don't even understand it. but, one must learn to except the fact that there are many things beyond our understanding. these limits are the very thing that make us human. we are restricted by time, space, dimension, knowledge, and so on. faith entails the hope that we will one day be unbound by such things. hope entails faith in something we cannot see, hear, touch, nor comprehend. the inertwining of the two are completely human traits, like many others, including fear, doubt, and despair. sorting through these traits and choosing which to possess is merely a choice. hope you make the right one....

Actually, I think the most profound thoughts, and least petty, that we have are more along the lines of;
What can I do to help this other person out?
How can I help with the disaster that AIDS is inflicting in Africa?
How can I move to improve the relationships that I have with others?
The questions you asked don't really do anything about your or any one elses situations. They have no real answers, and in the end, the answers don't really matter.
Why am I here? It doesn't matter unless I'm doing something to help those around me.
How did I get here? Who cares unless I'm focusing on where I'm going.
How vast is the universe? How vast are the problems here on earth that can be helped?
Is there life elsewhere in the universe? I may never know, but there is life here that needs help.
Are there other other universes? Maybe, but I should be more concerned with the people I know are living, and dying, in this one.
If God already knows the answers to the questions you asked, perhaps he would rather us focus on the ones that I asked, that can be answered, but that we chose not to.

He probably spends His days looking at fractal art that He creates in His mind. Since He is omnipotent, He can zoom in infinitely without losing any accuracy.
Seriously, though, I don't think He really needs to think. He simply knows. Thinking in the sense that you're talking about implies that there is something you're trying to figure out. In a different sense, I would bet that God thinks a whole lot about how much He loves us and how He wishes we would love Him in return.
By the way, you ended your question in a preposition!

God is everything, every thought everyone has or has ever had is the thought of God experiencing itself in every aspect.
God is consciousness that permeates everything. The laws of the universe are gods thoughts, the feelings, thoughts and experiences of every living being including animals, humans, insects, plants, etc, etc, etc, are the thoughts of God.
God is everything, and everything is God manifested in form and thought through consciousness.

God doesn't need to think he only acts. He knows all. He knows he will eventually get worry of his toy humans and throw them in the garbage and move on. He is like a human with an ant farm. He knows you will all have to be flushed eventually.

Brendan, the Bible says that God has precious thoughts about each one of us (you too!) and that those thoughts outnumber the grains of sand on a beach.
God loves you and believes in you, so do I!

Thought is imperfect, and therefore not in the nature of God.

If God thinking about how much HE LOVES YOU and how much he wants you to succeed is petty then what is extreme?
