You need the driver file for your camera
Since you didn't state what Make & Model camera you have, I can't provide a link to a driver for you.
BTW, The camera should have come with a disk\disc WITH the driver\s on it.

You'll need drivers, look at your cam and get the makers name, the model bnumber and type that in google with driver download behind it, for instance, Logitech Quickcam 3200 driver download.
Find the driver and download it, and when it says to install the hardware, click the baloon, and make it look where you saved the driver, then after installing it, it will work!

it takes 2 to tango.. either your OS is at fault or your USB device. Virus, spywares destroy ur system registry files..etc.Try 2 reinstall your WinXP(disconnnect your LAN cable 1st) followed by a good antivirus software. then try to reconnect your device. if it cant solved d problem. U should search 4 a good driver for ur device on the web and installl it.

Install the drivers first. Unplug it, get the cd or d/l the latest and install them then try again.
