So many rules that relate to the physical world. Are they mistaking the higher realities for these mundane rules and regulations that scream "man-made rules". For instance Muslim Men aren't supposed to wear silk - How does that have anything to do with God, honestly? Catholic women used to have to wear something, anything on their head to go to church - what does that have to do with true holiness? Jews and Muslims always fighting over land - how does land have to do with spirituality? the rules of facing mecca during prayer - that's about a physical object, symbol more than connecting with God isn't it?

These things are more about man's ideas, rules. Are these monotheistic religions just lost in their rules and politics and have got so wrapped up in these rules that atleast some part of the true meaning of spirituality has been clouded over or lost?

The idea is that one cannot begin to prepare his place in the next world until he has done so in this one. Therefore, the rules are there to allow each person to learn to live with themselves and with each other....once successful there, they can begin to learn to live with God.

What the big deal about Muslim men not wearing silk? they don't wear gold either does not hinder there life in any way. They don't because both these things are for women and the men don't do anything that is for women alone. Palestinians have a right to have there homes back, if you where kicked from your home and land would you have nothing to say about it? I'm sure you would. We face mecca because it is the center of the earth and we all pray in the same direction as a sign of unity and oneness it has nothing to do with worshiping physical objects. If you knew anything about Islam you would know object and idol worship are totally against our faith. We don't have "man mad ideas and rules" in Islam we have Gods rules and laws and I'll be taking Gods word over mans any day. He is the one i have to answer too.

My experience is that man in general has clouded spirituality with far too much Dogma in most religions, but there are exceptions.

The Baha'i Faith, for example, doesn't have clergy and professes as well a practices personal investigation of the truth, which is waht all of the Great teachers imparted to their followers. It was never written anywhere that we ought to take someone's word for it because they were personally spoken to by God and others don't have this ability because they aren't worthy of it. God never said that .
Christ himself said "It is not me, but The Father within me" that doeth the work.

You are so correct.
Remember that Christianity, Islam and Judaic faiths are all linked with old traditions and try as you may it's impossible to break that link.
Jesus Christ criticized Jewish traditions; thus Christianity should be free of them; however traditions has always been part of the Jewish and Islamic faiths.
