do you think I can get into university of maryland college park with this? PLEEZ HELP!!!!!?

I'm a high school junior and I did REALLY bad first semester with a gpa of 1.71. however, I'm gonna get a 3.42 this quarter.


my sat scores aren't so good but I can fix them, so far I got:
M:610
R:460
W:490(I can sooo fix this I know exactly what I did wrong)


my extracurriculars:
*I babysit and tutor young children in a poor neighborhood
*I have a part time job at baskin robbins
*My friends and I started our own band


Talents:
* I play NINE musical instruments very well
* I speak 5 languages(English, Spanish, Japanese, Bengali, and
Hindi) and I'm gonna learn mandarin chinese over the summer
* I can draw very well, my art has even been posted up at the rec
center in greenbelt


With all of this, do you think I can get into umcp?

As long as your Senior year goes well, it's a possiblility. I graduated from College Park, and it's much harder to get into every year. Your SAT's need to be at least a 1250, preferably a 1300. And play a sport too. You need some more extra curricular activities. And are you a minority? Cause then you'll get in no matter what your grades are like. And try to run for student council, or something else where you can hold a leadership position.
