Yes, you may have skin irritation. Try using Aveeno Shave Gel for sensative skin. I've never heard of skin turning darker after shaving, mine is always lighter. Good Luck.

Shaving your legs will not change your skin colour for long. Probably just a reaction to the pressure of the razor against your skin. Moisturise your skin and don't use any bleaching agent. That would really screw things up. Be patient and the skin will get back to it's original colour.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Get some baby oil gel from Target and put it on in the shower. Your legs are just in shock right now and need moisture. Don't bleach or use tan gel that makes it worse.

Well, i'm not sure, but I've heard that when you want to light your elbows and knees, rubbing a mix of lemon juice with sugar on them helps, dunno if it would work on your skin, if you do this, you should use some moisturizer afterwards. =) Good luck, hope this helps!
