In Genesis 6:9, Noah walked with the true God. After the deluge, Genesis 9:1 reads: And God went on to bless Noah and his sons and to say to them: "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth." So it was handed down but since everyone has freewill, some chose to do what they wanted to do. Through Ham's lineage, Canaan was cursed, Genesis 9:25. Ham's son Cush became father to Nimrod, who was a mighty hunter in opposition to Jehovah. You can read about his account in Genesis 10:8-20; 11:1-9. It will explain how all the other languages and religions had come to be.

Well, hold on there.
When Noah and his family were alive, there was one other "religion" out there. Satan had children on the earth (Kenites) who were the decendants of Cain. Also, at that time Noah was a preacher, and he preached against the Angels who had left their habitations and came to earth to marry human women. Children were being born of those unions, and they esspecially wanted Noahs daughters to participate. Why? Because this was satan's second attempt in this age to pollute the pure line, where down the generations, womb-to-womb, would come Christ.
The children being born to these women/Angels, were called "geba". The flood was to rid the earth of these hybrids. You can read of those Angels and what they did in the only chapter of the Book of Jude.
So, you had your believers in God, and your satan worshippers, too.

Short memories seem to be a recurring theme in the bible. The former slaves in Egypt forgot about how God saved them just a few weeks earlier and worshipped a golden calf.

Noah, biblically, had no religion. If anyone before him did, it wasn't mentioned.

According to the Bible, it is because of the Tower of Babel. Humanity all spoke the same language, and believed if they worked together, they could build a tower to reach God, and, by implication, be as powerful as God. So God caused confusion amongst them so that they spoke, and by inference, thought differently from one another.
