Don't eat it! But I've met a couple of trolls on here I could recommend you pass it on to. :)

Send it in for a refund. Yours might not be contaminated-- factories have several machines for these things and they're probably covering all their legal bases by recalling everything packaged the day the contaminated PB was sent out. However, if you do know of the recall and are actually made sick later, you have no legal ground to stand on. Don't want that. It's annoying to have to buy new peanut butter, but don't risk it.

Send the lid in for a refund, hunny. No need to take chances. Throw the peanut butter away. If you get a really mean craving for peanut butter, then just go buy yourself a new jar.
Cheers

Since the recall, I have researched everything I can on line about peanut butter. Everything so far has read that Jiff and Peter Pan are ok. I called the 800 number for Jiff and was assured that Jiff is not included in the recall. I had a new jar of Jiff but before I let my grandson eat it, I ate a big spoonful and waited a day. I didn't get sick so it seems to be ok. He'd sure be upset if he couldn't have his PBJ's!

I would not eat it, as the same thing happened to me. I am wondering sort of the same thing..
I have eaten Peter Pan peanut butter in the past few weeks with the code they are now warning people about - "2111" and I have not been sick from it.. so I myself am wondering if it had salmonella in it.. I should have gotten sick from it, right? as that is what brought me to your question.. am I looking up info on it. but I won't eat anymore of it.

There's every chance that you jar of peanut butter is perfectly safe...companies issue recalls if there's the slightest chance of problems with their products. That being said, I wouldn't risk it, even if you've already eaten some of the peanut butter in the jar. Salmonella multiplies.

Are you crazy? Heck no, don't eat it. You probably haven't been contaminated yet b/c you didn't eat enough of it. Send the lid in for a refund or throw the crap out, either way, don't eat anymore of it unless you want to be sick.

It's not worth the risk. Just throw it away, totally away, so kids or other family members don't find it and eat it. Cuz Peter Pan can be a bit addicting ;-)
