Hey, I'm new to this because before today I've never been in an accident. Well I was driving home from school and me and another man both lost control of our vehicles, however we just barely scraped each other. My car has a small dent thats hardly noticeable and his car had a small dent that was hardly noticeable and a scratch or a little bit of chipped paint whatever you want to call it.

He called the police and he wrote down all our information and filed the report. The damage was so minimal that the guy who I "wrecked into" said he wouldn't have cared the only reason he filed the report is because he was driving a company car and he needed proof that the cause of the scratch was an accident. I was telling him how I've never been in an accident and I was worried about how much this would cost.. He said its no big deal let the insurance handle it. Of course I know this will make the rates go up. Will the rate go up being it was an insignifigant accident? I live in PA if it helps

No claim is insignificant to an insurance company. Yes, they will raise your rates.

go to the company and offer to repair the damage cash and it won't affect you at all. Depending on your insurance company "fender benders" like that will not raise your premium. It depends on the coverage you have. If it is just a small dent or scratch on their company vehicle, you can pay a body shop around 200 to fix it and then an insurance claim won't be filed at all, therefore, your insurance won't be affected. The same thing happened to my girlfriend.

It depends on a lot of different factors, including the company your parents are insured with. I don't know what state you're in, but your age will most definitely be what will affect it the most. However, if it is a small claim amount that is paid out it should not go up nearly as much.

If you weren't cited (given a ticket), it's likely that it's a "no-fault" accident. If that's the case, and you don't file a claim with your insurance company, your rates should be unaffected.
