...intellectually lazy?

My god created everything. Okay that does it for me. I have all the answers now.

I find it to be complete JOY!
And it makes sense, and I have had nothing but security in knowing that God is who He is and that salvation is through Him.
If I did not know this, I would be lost--running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

In some ways it is simply easier to believe in creation and deny evolution. We can simply say "God did it" to explain anything we do not understand.

I went to a Catholic (Jesuit) university and still receive the alumni newsletter. In a recent article there was a debate between a professor of theology, a professor of anthropology and a professor of philosophy about creation and evolution. To back up a bit, official Catholic doctrine accepts evolution and does not see a conflict between science and religion. Times have changed since Galileo, to say the least. The theology professor made the most sense. His point was that using God to explain the unexplainable is poor science and also not the right way to think about God. As modern science has come to better understand the rising and setting of the sun, plant and animal reproduction, earthquakes etc. science has begun to chip away at some people's concept of God. This is not the way we should think of God. God is not some sort of stop leak to plug gaps in our understanding.

God is more concerned with good and evil, the afterlife, and our eternal souls than the actual dimensions of Noah's ark or the numbering system of the Ten Commandments.

Creationism I find to be ludicrous but straightforward belief in God I don't have a problem with. When you see someone state that they have tested in the top 2% for biologists in the US yet they still dispute evolution you realise you are dealing with a pretty perverse mentality. Quite how you can study biology without an awareness of species evolution is beyond me.

My God created everything, and yes, THAT DOES IT FOR ME.

I am an educated professional person in the legal field.

You question. You rationalize. You doubt. You mock.

You will continue to do so because you don't have the assurance of the Holy Spirit.

You will continually think it is a bunch of bunk -- that is, until it happens to you.

Why do I say this? Because I used to think like you. I know where you're at.

Believe me, where I'm at now is a whole lot better. It's a win/win.

closed minded maybe, but not lazy. I actually know some absolutely brilliant people who believe in creationism. I don't know why, but they do. Maybe out of fear of their faith being questioned?? I don't know. I think most thoughtful, modern Christians can see that the creation of the world in eight days as the Bible says is not at odds with Darwin's theory of evolution. Eight days could mean anything. If you believe in a God that is all powerful, then he could have compressed time, or created the creatues that evolved into humans. Who says Adam and Eve were fully developed humans?

Not at all. Actually I find the Evolutionist to be lazier, seeing that they HAVE TO contradict scientific laws in order to piece their view together. Seriously, I am not kidding here.

As CS Lewis said & I agree with, "If you want to keep someone from God, keep them from science." (The Screwtape Letters) I believe that the true study of science, will lead someone to God.

BTW- I have tested to be in the top 2% of people in the United States in science, particularly Biology- although that was back in 1992.

Why. Is it any less lazy to say, "God created nothing. It all just happened."? You may say I'm generalizing a bit, but hey, so are you. Not everyone who believes in creationism thinks it's all that simple. Personally, I think God helped evolution along, but that's just my opinion. What is with people who think science and religion can't get along?

When it all comes down to it, that's pretty much what it is. Creationists say that it's easier to believe that a God created the earth and the universe.

Well, they're right. It's a lot easier to believe that because it completely lacks intellectual integrity.

In my opinion it is just as hard to prove the inexistance of a "god" than it is to prove the "god" exist.I am a neutral observer, but I will never judge you or your beliefs.
