I am aware of the Catholic version; however, it does impede upon some of the main script plot. It really hasn't done that well in USA and England sales. However, the interpreted version has done quite well in Rome.

I read the original version of the book and was impressed. I did not realize there was a Catholic version.

Rick Warren adheres to the Protestant doctrine of sola scriptura and, in doing so, ignores 2,000 years of Christian Tradition, the study of thousands of theologians, and faith journey of millions of believers who led a purpose driven life.

This Catholic reviewer did not like the original book: http://www.catholic.com/thisrock/2005/0512fea2.asp

Why would there have to be a "Catholic version" of a so called "Christian book"?..........Are there two kinds of Christianity?......Or is the book a mirror image of TRUE Christianity full of inconsistencies and half truths? Seems to me that the "Almighty Dollar" is the god of this book in in Mr. Warrens' attempt to sell more copies!!
