The best paint out there is hands down Benjamin Moore. They have a newly formulated 100% acrylic regal line thats is the best on the market. The super spec paint is also a great paint and fairly inexpensive. Porter and Pittsburgh, owned by the same company are also top quality paints. Sherwin Williams used to have pretty good paint, but here recently the quality of their paint has dropped. As far as Lowes and Home Depot go, the are more for quantity instead of quality. Plus its like finding a needle in a hay stack when looking for someone who knows what they are talking about in one of those stores. Beleive me, you want the right information when it comes to paint. You will know real quick if you used the wrong product, and it wont be cheap.

My favorite paint is Behr from Home Depot. But I have also used 30 or more gallons of Benjamin Moore paint. It was more expensive, but is very good paint and easy to work with. Much less spatter and dripping than Sherwin Williams for about the same price. My wife used Valspar from Lowes for a garden project at her job, and it was all peeling within 6 months. And everything was primed first.

I am a painting contractor and we use Benjamin Moore almost exclusivley and the ben moore product which compares to pro mar 2oo is called super spec,it ,like promar is contractor grade paint, but super spec is much better.I would ,if you can afford it, go with the regal line of ben moore paint it is very good.

Not sure about the "pro mar" line from S-W, but I think they are one of the best. They key is to get paint w/ a high % of pigments in it.

I knew a pinater who swore by Behr (Home Depot) for interiors.

I've been very pleased every time I've put up S-W or had it put up for me.

You know, we've always used the Lowe's or Home Depot store brands for our paint projects. They're less expensive than the name brands and they do the job. You can also buy them in big 5 gallon buckets for big projects.
