he's harassing and threatening me after an answer I left on one of his questions. Anyone else have their messages from him? save them and we'll report together.

From: Lawyer
Subject: not a good move
Message: it's on now, you just crossed the lines. You don't know how useful or harmful computers can be. Do you even know what IP address is? Have you even looked at my screen name? It's lawyer and I have all the tools to trace people online.
You think you are going to get away with this. No, think again.
First you told me loser and second I did gave you first warning. Please be sure to check your mail box not "email" but real mail box withing next two weeks. Also expect a visit from your local sheriff dept pretty soon.

From: Lawyer
Subject: coming after you
Message: You even made it easier for me, you just provided your email address online, how dumb???? You might not know what IP address is but soon you will find out, how I am going to trace you. This is not a joke, think about it again.
clevelandc83@yahoo.com
you will def receive some surprise within next couple of weeks. It won't be good one though, I promise.
For records, I didn't told you "loser" neither did I insult you or your family members. Be sure to look online for laws of insulting other random people online. You are toasted. I am going to use legal ways to get at you.

message 3:
From: Lawyer
Subject: Re: not a good move
Message: (a) leaving me this threatening email (It's not a threat, I am letting you know what I am going to do to you in next couple of weeks)
(b) actually tampering with my computer. ( It's not against the law to ping your IP address. It's a way to find out who is your cable provider, so that will lead me to your address)
It's as simple as that. I gave you first warning to stop but you didn't and you kept on insulting my family memebers. Well, be ready to pay for the consequences. No more comments for you. There is nothing legally you can do against me.

Message: Did anyone else get a threatening message from a user named Lawyer?

Again, not a smart move. Like I said, I did not threat anyone else on yahoo yet. You are my first client and on top of my list.
Whenever you get a chance be sure to read guidelines about law online and you will know.

Reporting him will not do anything other than his profile will be eliminated from yahoo. But if he really knows how to trace your IP address, then he is really capable of doing what he says he can. If I were you, I would keep it quite or apologize to that man and remove this mess.
It might sound funny but it can get serious. Because I know some people who gotten into this mess by fooling around online.

I haven't received it from lawyer but I received it from some other username on yahoo couple months ago. I thought he was joking around but he was real because my local cable company told me about that someone tried to cut off my cable. It was scary situation, I ending up apologizing to that man and got rid of entire mess.
We don't really know what other people are capable of online. I rather stay quite.

You should report him. The things he says.Report it. He should not be on the sit if he don't want the comments.
How did he get your e mail address??? You really need to report it. I would call your local law enforcement and at least get a report that you made and copy all of the things he is sending you. Don't let that wimp scare you.

What was your question, and what did he "say" to you?
I noticed your email is not provided; did you just change that, or has it always been that way? Sounds like he might be full of sh**t. I doubt he'd be able to trace his hand on a piece of paper, let alone your email address. Also, what are the chances he is anywhere close to you (physically) to do any harm? I'm not saying to let your guard down; I'm just saying that I wouldn't let him freak you out too much. He sounds pretty pathetic to me.

yes, I would believe him. Computers are both useful and harmful at the same time. If he has right tools to trace you and right contacts to get back at you. I don't see why he should not be able to do that? If I were you, I would go ahead and apologize to him and get rid of this mess. Then again, it's your choice.

Just ignore him, he'll go away. The more you provoke, the more he'll try and mess with you.
