Prior year returns can not be electronically filed, They must be mailed in, only the current year can be electronically filed

Contact the IRS @ 1-800-829-1040 for a VITA site that may be able to help you prepare these tax forms

For Wisconsin you can file your state taxes electronically for 3 years prior to the current year until April 15th of the next tax year. I'm trying to figure out federal also, but so far it's just the forms I've found on the IRS website.

You don't have to go to a tax preparer, you can download the forms at irs.gov - go to forms and publications, then prior years. Be sure to use the right form and instructions for the year you're filing for, since the rules and numbers change every year.

You can't file them online, you have to mail them in. Only the current year can be filed online.

You can go to the IRS website and download copies of the 2005 tax return forms. The IRS only maintains pdf copies of the current year and prior year forms online. You can call the IRS and request copies of the 2004 tax return forms to be mailed to you.
