Not only do I have acne on my forehead and tzone area, but it is also dry and red all the time, even summer and even when I do have acne. My son has eczema (runs in my family) and I suspect I do too. But, if cruel jokes abound, I am being laughed at once more....My dry red forehead is also now plastered with small whiteheads. My chin has noticeable pores and I never had acne as a teen due to the severe dry skin. What's up now?

I would go to a dermatologist so they can tell you exactly what the problem is. How long ago did you have your son? I've heard that being pregnant can change a woman's skin, so this might be the case for you. In the meantime, I would try and use some products to help your skin. Personally, I've had a lot of success using ProActiv, but everyone's skin is different. My skin was really dry and flaky, plus I had acne. I've been using it for five years now. Maybe try a mild cleanser, like Purpose for your skin. It sounds very sensitive, and you might be over cleansing or using the wrong products. I would switch to products for sensitive skin and see how that works.

please go see a dermatologist. (I'm 33 and still get acne)

You may also have rosacea, which will look like red skin with a lot of acne, rosacea needs to be treated with medications. Your dermatologist can also discuss the products that you are using and how they may be affecting your skin as well.

There are adult acne products on the market, and you may need to make sure you search out hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic products. Check out my profile to shoot me an email and I can tell you about products that are all of the above, ph balanced, non-greasy, and HELP acne prone adult skin. Believe me, I got acne at 15, and it hasn't gone away 100%, but when I break from my regimen, or have to use products that aren't all of the above, I will get break outs. But I can't imagine how bad my skin would be if I was using oily nasty stuff with animal byproducts in it! A dermatologist can really help you!

fluctuations in hormones, stress, the things you eat, even the oils and dirt from your hair and hands or a combination of any or all of those can all add to acne. even allergies to food or makeup or materials can cause a flare up. some people do get it later in life, some people have it all their life. I would see a doctor or try proactive to help combat the later in life acne. try to keep your hair away from your face and touch your face as little as possible. look for an oil-free makeup that won't clog your pores. pay attention to flare-ups and notice what you ate that day or the day before. watch your stress level, sometimes you can't avoid stress but we can DEstress.

but like I said, I would try proactive, I've used it with success and still do when I get a pimple, there's a new one out but I haven't tried it..muriad?? I'm not sure of the name. or see your doctor who can refer you to a dermatologist

Its very possible that you've developed some kind of allergy or sensitivity to something in the air or skin products you're using (soap, cream etc.) I would recommend seeing your doctor. They can usually help clear these things up with some medication.
