Try ZONEALARM Internet Security Suite........ available on Free trial for 14/15days + came top in a test on Anti-Virus products in this months' WHICH? magazine. http://www.zonelabs.com

If that fails, try Anti-VIR Personal Edition classic from http://www.free-av.com

If that fails, take out the hard drive, hook it up as a secondary drive on either someone else's PC (with up-to-date Anti-Virus), or a spare PC of your own, and scan it from there in case the virus has been designed to hide from Anti-Virus when it's cleaning / hides in the System restore on Windows.

As a last resort, back up your essential files (pictures, typed letters, e-mail inbox, etc) and format the hard drive, reinstall Windows from scratch.

neither Norton, or sophos recognise that file name, but it is of the correct type name to be a trojan of some sort.

Before you try to get rid of it make sure you turn off system restore, or it may reside their and then simply reinstall itself.

There is an online scanner available at the Norton site, or you could download the AVG free edition from Grisoft

I can give you few links that deal with antivirus and antispywares. I think you have to select a standard antivirus. I have come across a website that gives a brief study on computer viruses and their removal. It is very useful. Please visit
http://jskproducts.co.uk/antivirus.htm
You may also try to select and install a suitable anti spy ware from the following link to protect the Pc against spyware attacks.

Use Linux or Mac and you won't have to worry about that ever again.
Mac and Linux can not be infected unless you are logged in as root and no one ever is by default.
Only Windows gets infected by viruses and trojans and spyware.
