i'm not into big fancy presents. i keep it simple. for valentine's day my idea of the perfect date was taco bell for dinner and watching a movie at the dollar theatre. sure enough that is what we did. he tried to make a big deal by going to a nice restaurant and i said no. my friends and classmates think i'm crazy...

Valentines Day is no big deal to a lot of people. If you have a good relationship and you enjoy what you're doing, don't worry about other people. You're not crazy.

No. Valentine's Day is pretty much a crock of a holiday anyway. I made my hubby a heart shaped cheeseburger and gave him a card I drew with crayons. He gave me a card from the dog, a bouquet of flowers, and a bottle of wine (which I was going to buy but he said he would pick it up)!

As far as I'm concerned, this holiday is just a good reminder for him to bring me some flowers once or twice a year. Your way of handling the holiday is PERFECT! (I gotta admit, Taco Bell and the dollar theater sounds ideal!)

No. There's nothing wrong with doing that if that's what you want to do. You just like to keep it simple and that's ok. Valentine's day to a lot of people is no big deal. So what if your friends thinks your weird you are who you are and you shouldn't change for no one.

i don't think you're weird at all. he asked what you wanted, you told him, and he made it happen. who cares that it didn't break the bank. you're happy and content with what you received right???!!! i wish people would stop putting a price on love. just because it ended up being taco bell??? who the hell cares?!?!?! the important thing is that you got to spend time together, and that there's love there to share between the two of you...end of story. if you ask me, your friends and classmates are the weird ones...or maybe they're just jealous in the security of your relationship. bottom line: do not think that you are weird. different stokes for different folks girl. as long as you're happy, that's all the matters.

Not weird.

My husband and I hate trying to go out to dinner on V-day. It is crowed and difficult to get in anywhere. Seems to be a waste of time. Last year we did Chick-fil-a. This year we were able to go out early, like at 4:30, and went to Ruby Tuesday's and just did the salad bar and a beer, then left before the crowds came in.

To not want the fuss and trouble is practical, and you are wise beyond your years.

I love something special but not on someone else’s schedule, like Valentines Day. Weird or not I’d rather have an easy and comfortable evening. We stay home to avoid adding any stress. We slow down, and plan a private party with no one else on the guest list. It’s more personal, less crowded, less rushed for a week night and less expensive. Let’s not forget, it’s the retailer telling us to empty our pockets for an expensive expression of love.

You're not weird at all! My boyfriend and I think Valentine's Day is somewhat ridiculous, mostly because of the money that people spend on one another. Like you and yours, he and I did very simple things for each other (see my past answers), which were both so sweet. You're definitely not crazy.

There is nothing wrong with practical. Real love and good memories are built on good times together, not money wasted. I originally bought an expensive engagement ring for my wife. She had me take it back. Instead she wanted her grandmothers engagement/wedding set. So I had those repaired, cleaned and re-sized for her. It saved me a small fortune and we are very happy together 5 1/2 years later.

No. You're just different, & there's nothing wrong with being different. You wanna know what's weird? My twin sister's husband left her & her kids for a teenage girl for Valentine's Day. Isn't that pathetic?

Hey as long as it makes you happy and you're not 'selling yourself short' meaning as long as you don't think you don't deserve better then go with what you like.
Everybody is different but just as you don't like be criticized for liking the simple things, please don't criticize those who like the finer things in life.
