Psalms 106:34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: 35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. 36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them. 37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, 38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. 39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

Justice. The people refused to follow God's law & leave their lands. So God used Israel as his carrier of justice. He has always worked that way & always wil.
People have a choice. To submit to God & live or to reject him & perish.

Obviously, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God" is as nothing to tempting His Chosen Ones! That'll REALLY put you on top of His S**t list!

Because they were evil and he didn't want to fool with another flood it was too messy. The world stunk for a year with all the dead bodies after the flood. Something he hadn't counted on.
