No! Pick only one of the three. These two drugs, ibuprofen and naproxen are very similar and both are NSAID, non-steroidal anit-inflammatory drugs. Pick and choose only to use one, they can cause stomach upset and if too much is taken over a short period of time it can eventually effect your liver. Midol already has acetaminophen, which is tylenol, so that should help your head ache. Be patient, it will work 20 to 30 minutes after taken. Midol also has caffeine, so no caffeinated drinks, too much caffeine or too little caffeine can cause headaches too. Hope you feel better!

All of your respondents are correct, and I'll add a little something as well. Ibuprofen in some people, is producing similar cardiac problems as was found in Vioxx users, and doctors are warning their patients of it.... Remember, though, that Ibuprofen has been around forever, and is an excellent anti-inflammatory and it is as you well know, at time a killer to the stomach lining, so take it with food always....just be aware of that new information... If you need anti-inflammatory meds often, you might reconsider aspirin, coated, though. Aspirin has been around forever, and is extremely effect, and cheap. Aleve (naproxen sodium) appears not to bother the heart, nor the stomach, and is what most doctors are now recommending, along with, but not at the same time, as Tylenol..... And of course, Tylenol is probably the safest pain killer in doses that are prescribed. However, as a dangerous drug, it tops the list on the shelf... in quantities large enough, and even without alcohol, it literally will melt the liver.... You might wish to google some of these, too.
The bottom line is take as little of that stuff as you can to get releif.... Hope your med has kicked in by now, hon... Sometimes just standing in a hot shower, to loosen those tense muscles in the back of your neck where they attach to the skull will end your headache.....

You can take ibuprofen for your head ache, just take a low dosage. You may be having side effect's from the Midol. It's best to take a medication every 4 hours, that way if you do have an adverse reaction to the medication it will only be in your system for four and a half hours instead of six, eight or twelve to twenty four hours. Also a dark room with a warm cloth over the forehead and eye's helps also. If the headache keeps on,you should contact your family doctor, he can give you medication made just for head aches. There is one medication called Maxalt that will knock a head ache out in fifteen minutes. I hope I helped you and I do hope that you will get some quick relief.

NO! I work at a lawfirm and we had a case where a lady was given naproxen sodium by her doctor and then took lots of Ibuprofen for a headache - and it killed her liver! Truly! As a matter of fact, my doc gave me naproxen sodium a few years ago and it did nothing for my pain at all. If you don't respond to naproxen any better than I did, quit it and go for the Ibuprofin! Hope this helps, and have a great day.
