Do your own research first and compare what you find with what a travel agent will offer.

I have traveled to Thailand and Southeast Asia a dozen times and have always made my own arrangments. For me, I have saved money with accommodations and air travel.

Phuket sas several inexpensive, but good accommodations. Check out: http://www.phuket-hotel.org for accommodations and http://www.airbrokers.com for flights.

Once you're on the ground in Phuket you can easily make arrangements for sightseeing tours or other travel arrangements. English is widely spoken, the people are friendly, and there are plenty of local travel agencies that can assist.

Friend.....if you go in the high season, between October-March, then book. If not, then find a place when you arrive. Don't find a fancy hotel. Save your money and fine a good guesthouse with breakfast and maybe pool. Its cheaper, and you will be more near the help full Thais. Your taxi or TukTuk driver sure know a place he can recommend.

Hi, information on Phuket, look through www.tourismthailand.org for information you need on Phuket. Check www.asiarooms.com for possible accommodation. If the rate suits you, you can book online.

Email me at thaitourinfo@yahoo.com if you have other questions.

Be careful of the agents that will bombard you when you get off the plane. they will always get a cut of the amount so they over charge you. Cheapest way is to walk into the place you want to stay at. Be careful of taxi drivers, i wouldnt ask them for their advice because they get commissions for taking you to their contacts places. It can be anything from accommodation to tailors.
