My daughter wants a barbie cake 1 of the 1's where the barbie doll is in the middle and the cake is her dress. Any1 know how to make and decorate this type of cake the easiest yet best way? I want it to look great! lol Thanks

And bake the cake in a "skirt" pan, either available at cake deco supply places (craft stores, WM, etc.) or a pyrex mixing bowl that is oven-proof.

My mom used to make these for me - I don't know where she got it, but she had a special doll that she stuck in the hole of a bundt cake and then just used regular icing to decorate both the doll and the dress. It was a long time ago, but to me the doll didn't look any different than a regular barbie doll and it had the problem of the hair getting in the icing. I would assume you could use any new/clean barbie for this.
I believe my mom would wrap wax paper around the doll's body so it was easier to clean off after. She had several tools for the icing, but now you can buy the decorator frosting in either tubes or cans with the 4 fancy tips - I would use one of the ripples one and just go in circles starting with doing the top of the dress on the doll. It works easiest if you put the cake platter on a lazy susan so you can easily turn the cake as you are decorating.

Use an angel food cake pan and bake 1 regular cake then use 2 9"rounds with a clean tuna can in the middle to make the bottom tier. The 2 9" rounds will have a center hole thanks to the tuna can and the angel pan will make the fluted skirt. Stack the 2 9" rounds using preserves/jam/ jam or icing as you prefer then top with the angel food shaped cake stuck with icing or preserves/jam/ jam as well. Cover with a crumb layer and let dry. Once the crum layer is set place the doll wearing a bathing suit into the hole in the center. frost cake and use the star point decorating tip to build a blouse for the doll and add detail to the skirt. It is easiest to leave the dolls arms down and slightly above the cake like she is reaching to smooth her skirt then make the frosting blouse or trying to move the arms later will damage your efforts. Complete the look with a crown on the doll and one around the top of the cake that says happy birthday and write the child's name on the skirt like a Miss America banner. Hope this helped!

My mom made those cakes for me. She would make an angel food cake because there is a hole in the middle where Barbie could stand. So, only the top half of Barbie was visible; her bottom half was in the cake. The she decorated the icing around Barbie in patterns with tiny bows and ribbons. Sometimes she used small candies, like chocolate chips or little hearts. When she finished , it looked like Barbie was standing in a beautiful gown.

When I was little my aunt always borrowed my favorite Barbie doll and did this for me. It was so special! She would bake the cake and then cut a hole in the centers of the layers, then put in the doll and use icing to create the top of the dress directly on the doll and blend it into the cake which became the ball gown's skirt. They were unique and beautiful and I loved them. Your daughter will, too. Tell her happy birthday, and you have a great day.

After you have made the cake and put the icing on, You could use doll picks or a real barbie that you can buy at the toy section and glue it on using icing. Mini barbies are also conveniant to use and can almost be bought any where.

I like females in jeans. It creates them look more city like and it generally does not look like they try too much but if you're trying to get this guys attention, this may well not be what you would like

I really do enjoy using long skirts occasionally. They are really actually convenient than Trousers and also much less hot to wear.
