How much trouble do you think one would get in if after being stranded on the runway for ....let's just say 2 hours.....someone pulled open the emergency door, slid down the slide, and walked (very carefully) back to the terminal?

It is considered a felony to interfere with flight crew...therefore, opening a door and leaving on your own would constitute interference...however, NO ONE should EVER have to just sit on a plane for NINE HOURS...that is ridiculous, uncalled for and bordering on torture....I'd sue ANY airline that did that to me....

It would be considered a felony to interfere with a flight crew, as someone mentioned. Not to mention they would consider you a security risk for being on a runway, and it could be dangerous. Although, nobody should be on a plane for that long in the first place. It would seem to me the pilot and flight crew wouldn't want to be sitting on the plane for that long either and they would try to do more to allow the plane to pull up to a gate. And maybe passengers would be on their cell phones or causing enough of a ruckus that the flight crew wouldn't have much choice (maybe if there was some sort of mob mentality screaming at them, they would be more inclined to get the plane to a gate)

Sadly when they pull away from the gate you are theirs.
Oh those who feel sorry for the pilot and crew that is when their clock started if they go back to a gate or unload the passenagers is when they go off the clock.
