I felt this way at 17, and when I turned 18 I started to travel. I started with in the united states, I moved to CA, TX, FL, NY, UT. I still haven't found what I was looking for so I started traveling to Europe: England, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Germany and so on. I found that I love to travel, but I'm back in my hometown.
I would suggest you start traveling, travel close to your home state and go from there. Try to travel by yourself, gives you a lot of time to reflect on your life. I can almost guarantee you'll find the answer your looking for.
Good Luck....

There is something out of place either in the communications with your family or maybe there's no feeling-like connection between you and whoever you live with or the people in the town that you live in. I used to have that feeling for years when i lived at home with my mom and little brother, ther was no connection between either of us, when i moved out of the house with consent from my mom at 17 yrs of age things didn't feel out of place. It all depends on you what you wnat to do biuld a link imbetween you and your family, or move.

I think it's time to move on and expore your world. You can always come back "home". I think it is a very healthy experience to live somewhere else, at least for a while. You might not ever want to move back home!
