First of all look at yourself in the mirrow. Ask yourself why in the world you got to this point. God gave you only one body and you need to take care of it or you will be in pain for the rest of your life.
Ask yourself how much you enjoy your life in this body? May be it's time to make a change?

Than get yourself couple of issues of Men's magazine. Very helpful to get motivated. Find a body you would like to have.
Be realistic, people have different body types.

Also think about women. What woman would you like to attract? Do you think she will be fit? If so than both of you will have a lot fo physical activities together and you will need to prepair you body for it.

As a personal fitness trainer I would say that most of the time if people don't have a motivation the best way to start is to hire a professional like myself to push you every session. :)

Here are basic recommendations that you can start with.

Food as Fuel:

Going without breakfast because you planning a big dinner is as silly as filling up your car's gas tank after you finish the trip. Eat all of the foods that are good for you; all of the grains, vegetables, fruites and lean proteins that you enjoy. Eat 6 small meals a day. Eating smaller meals more often will help to speed up your metabolism. Missing meals slow your metabolism. Also chew your food at least 30-40 times every time you take a bite. This will slow down your meal time and it easier to digest your food.

Hunger can stress the body and trigger the release of cotisol, a hormone that encourages the storage of fat in the abdomen. To keep hunger under control, split your meals and snacks into 5 or 6 minimeals.

Water - Drink TONS of water!

If you add 2-3 liters of water to you diet you will feel better - PROMISE. You will have to use the restroom often, BUT you will loose weight, inches, feel less bloated, and retain less water IF you add water to your diet. Men who are overweight should add up to galon of water a day. Sip throgh out the day for best result.

Your Body Needs Daily Exercise.

The only way to be fit is to exercise on the regular basis: daily if possible. Some benefits of daily exercise are: you don't get sick as often, you have more energy and you sleep better. Exercise doesn't have to be structured.
If it is something you enjoy doing, you'll look forward to it. Walking or riding a bike with your friends is fun. Even though it may only be a couple of miles, it is something.
Swimming one of the greaterst exercises. It's not only burn calories but take pressure off of your knees and help to correct your poster.
If you aren't looking forward to your next workout, do something else. Walking is probably one of the best fat burning exercises you can do - just walk more!

Have Realistic Expectations

You dont get out of shape over night so do not expect to loose weight over night neither. You can loose 10-12 pounds a month just by exercising more - without dieting! I promise you will feel better, get more fit and reach a higher level of satisfaction by starting slowly and expecting moderate weight and measurement losses.
Think within longer time frames, and a pound or two on a scale won't seam so important.

In case if you don't really need to loose weight but the more you workout the stronger your muscles will be and, depends on the count of fast twitch fibers in your body, you will develop a muscle mass that will eventually replace fat cells.

Cross-Training

Every few weeks plan a change in your routine. Note only will your mind be more challenged, your body will have to adapt and the body will benefit from the new stimuli. The body is an amazing adaptable machine. It will begin to burn less fat as an energy source for the same activity if you don't change your programe regularly.

Get 7 to 8 hours of shut-eye a night

Chronic sleep deprivation can raise cortisol levels. It can also drive down levels of the appetite-control hormone leptin, making you feel hungry.

Laugh more

Here's a tactic anyone can stick with! In a study conducted at Loma Linda University, men and women who watched a humorous video had 30% less cortisol in their blood not only while watching the tape but also up to 24 hours later.

I hope this will help. Email me if you have any questions

Try boosting your metabolism, maybe some foods with fiber or something. Do a little more activity each day. For say, yesterday you sat in front of the tv all day, Tomorrow, get up and walk outside to the corner and back. The next day, walk past the corner to the next block mayber. Get one of those things that count your steps. One day do 100 steps next day 200, next day 300, and etc. Eventually you'll be up to 1000 even 10000 in one day. Watching how you eat can come later. But remember mentally you have to be ready or else it'll never work. You body wouldnt move if your brain didnt tell it to.

I was that way once too. But the thing that got me going was music. I would put on my favorite rock and dance all over the living room. I would always feel great, albeit exhausted after-wards, but then I would be ready to jump in the shower and go out into the world. After a couple of weeks doing that I joined karate classes and that took me to a whole new level. I had lots of dates then and I felt like a million dollars.
I do agree that standing in front of a mirror totally naked sure did promt me to do something.

Chances are they won't be motivated. Some people are just set in there ways. Just workout for yourself and maybe they might gain some interest in it. I bought quite a bit of workout equipment for the our house, but my dad won't stick with it. If they don't want to change they won't.

u gotta motivate urself. first, detremine how much body weight ur over weight by for ur age and sez. u shud ask a doctor this. then set realistic goals of losing a certain amount of body fat. don't carsh diet, cause ur only losin water that way. don't starve urself either. remember, its not about losing weight, but about getting healthy. avoid too muc fatty or oily food. eat healthier n start off by walkin for 10 mins a day, gradually increase this number n soon you'd be surprised at how much better you'll feel! good luck!

Oddly enough, feeling bad about yourself and the way you look makes it harder to get in shape. You need to feel good about yourself and believe that if you set your mind to something, you can accomplish it. Set some goals -- long term and short term -- and think of yourself as a person who is capable and can accomplish these goals. Then figure out how to reach these goals and start doing it.

What works for another person may not work for you. They always recommend people begin exercising slowly and build up, but in my case, I decided that I was going to put all my efforts (outside of work) into getting fit (and losing weight). I visited a couple of local gyms and picked one that I felt comfortable with -- convenient, not intimidating, good facilities, people serious about getting fit and not there to strut around in spandex, reasonable cost -- and joined. I planned to go every day for a year. About a month in, I met with a trainer and that was helpful. I settled on six days out of seven, knowing that there were some weeks I'd fall short but to keep the goals high but attainable.

I've been at it for six months now and have lost a bunch of weight and feel SO much better -- I couldn't imagine going back to the way I was before I started working out so much. If I don't feel like going, I tell myself "tonight just go and walk for a half hour on the treadmill -- then you can come home" and when I get there, I always end up staying at least 45 minutes and often the full hour that is my usual time.

Probably when I reach the one year mark, I will cut back to five days a week and leave it there. This is something I will need to do for the rest of my life, but it will be worth it just to have so much energy and strength -- and to look better.

Encouragement from friends and coworkers also helps, although it's important that it not feel like pressure. If someone you know works out, maybe you can go to the gym with them. Once the compliments start coming in (losing weight? you look great!), it's a real incentive to keep going.

Another tip -- when I'm feeling hungry (and I'm careful not to starve myself), I have a piece of fresh fruit. I don't count calories but try to eat healthy and cut out most of my worst eating habits (like vending machines and fried food). I find looking at myself in a full length mirror helps keep me motivated. I can see that I'm thinner but I can also see how much further I have to go.

Imagine what you will look and feel like a year from now if you do this now!

think of something that you really are interested in and realize how much fun you could be having rather than watching television or playing on the computer, say to yourself i can play on the computer later and get up and do something fun when you get hungry say to yourself well i will eat later and keep postponing it until you feel you have to eat gradually you will come out of the slump you are in.....good luck and God Bless

Motivation is a personal quality. No one else can motivate you to do anything.

When you lose weight and are more healthy, the opposite sex notices. Trust me; I've been there.

And if the thought of exercise is overwhelming, do something easy to start, like walking. Still my favorite exercise.
