Yes, a lot of times and not for sex. I met some of my friend in 360º just to hang out and have fun, it was indeed fun.

Yes, I did. I met a couple of friends that I made online. We are still good friends. I also dated some people that I met online. All people are not predators.

I also recently married my husband. We met on Match.com.

The first place that you should meet someone that you met online is public one (well lit and easily escapable).

Make sure that the first meeting is something non-committal like coffee or something like that. The worst thing that can happen is if you hate the person and you have committed yourself to dinner or a movie. Have you ever tried eatting with a person that you hate? Its not worth it.

Have fun. Don't take the intial meeting too seriously. If you do, it might appear that you have some social skill issues. One guy thought that just because we went to the movies once that we were officially dating. Uggh...Not!

Be safe. If it sounds fishy or too good to be true STAY AWAY. Don't be afaid to ask for proof and pictures. There are people online who make an art out of lying. Dont fall for their crap!

Actually, that is the best advice I can give you.

Sure have...a couple of times. I married the first guy I met. We were together a year then we got married. a year and a half later we were divorced. Then I was with someone else I met online for a year. I've made several friends that I've met online. And I'm currently madly in love with my boyfriend, who I also met, online.

Yes, 3 times.

First, I talked to them on IM a lot before hand, I mean a lot. Like at least a month of almost daily IMs. I made sure that they sent me pics of themselves. I made sure that they weren't contradicting themselves. I was very cautious, as I am a girl, and it was guys I was interested in.

When we met, I arranged it so it was somewhere I was familiar with. I think all 3 times it was a restaurant, a fairly busy restaurant, at a fairly busy time. I also made sure it was still light outside. We met up at the restaurant and had lunch or dinner. That is a good chance to talk and get to know someone.

Depending on how it went and their schedule, we then went to a movie.

It was fine. I was super nervous at first when they first showed up. I was always worried they may have lied to me!

Funny story...I met my current bf online. We talked for over a month, every night, for a couple hours (yeah...we had no life :-P). He kept wanting to meet me, and I was reluctant to do so. He was different than anyone I had ever met...he was really into cars and motorcycles and didn't have a intellectual job (carpet installer). So we talked, and I finally decided to meet up with him. When he showed up, I was convinced he lied about his age...the whole meal, i thought he had lied. He looked so much younger than he said he was. But anyways, we had a good time. We went to a movie and it was nice.

He had to work for a second date...but he got one. And he eventually stole my heart. We have been together for over a year. He is the person I would like to spend the rest of my life with. (and no, he didn't lie about his age, he just looks really young! :-P)

So online can be a great way to meet someone, especially if you are like me and have a tough time meeting people in real life. You just have to be careful (especially if you are a girl) and use some common sense!

Yes, and my experience is not good. I met a guy onling and we chated for over 6 months he was in N.J. and me in FL and he decided to come to FL without letting me know and before I knew it he was here. He got to where I lived with my home address. But this was a mistake, I mean at first everything went well (for 1 year), but after I got tired of his lazyness, his cusing and after it got to be violent, and it went down hill from there. So, yes you can actually meet a person on the web. And actually my experience was bad, but I know it could have been worse, because there's actually people that kill out there and I'm glad I'm still here. My advice is that there are so many people around you that there's no reason to be looking for anyone over the net!!!!! : )

I've met a few people I've met online. It was great, he's been my boyfriend for 4 years. I was extremely nervous and scared, I brought friends with me so I wouldn't get raped and killed...lol! We went bowling and had lunch, it was kinda awkward because I knew him for almost a year before we met and we were both really shy in person cuz we didn't know what to do! haha but other people i've met and things have been well and not awkward.

I used ot meet men online and it is a very stupid idea. Guys are just looking for sex online when I am looking for a relationship. I have made a rule to ask up front what they want and if they stop responding, they are looking for fun. The ones that gripe about you not having a picture and they don't have a picture themself are considered predators as well. I have found it is more safe online, nobody has harmed me online. The only people that have harmed me are the people I have met in person.
